Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was an American rapper, entrepreneur, and community activist. He was born on August 15, 1985, in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in the Crenshaw neighborhood.

Hussle released his first mixtape, "Slauson Boy Volume 1," in 2005, and went on to release several more mixtapes over the course of his career. He released his debut studio album, "South Central State of Mind," in 2010, and his final album, "Victory Lap," in 2018, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

In addition to his music career, Hussle was also known for his entrepreneurial spirit and community activism. He opened several businesses in the Crenshaw area, including a clothing store called The Marathon Clothing, and was actively involved in various community projects, including efforts to combat gang violence and promote economic development.

Hussle's life was tragically cut short when he was shot and killed outside of his clothing store in March 2019. His death was met with widespread shock and sadness, and he was mourned by fans and fellow artists from around the world. In recognition of his contributions to his community, the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and West Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles was renamed Ermias "Nipsey Hussle" Asghedom Square.
