Don Lemon is an American television journalist and author, best known as the anchor of "CNN Tonight with Don Lemon." He was born on March 1, 1966, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and grew up in a family of seven children.
Lemon attended Louisiana State University, where he majored in broadcast journalism. He began his career as a news assistant at WNYW in New York City, and later worked as a reporter and anchor for various TV stations, including KTVI in St. Louis, WBRC in Birmingham, and WCAU in Philadelphia.
In 2003, Lemon joined CNN as a correspondent based in Chicago, and later moved to New York City to become a correspondent for the network's flagship program, "CNN Newsroom." He has covered major events such as the Boston Marathon bombing, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, and the Ferguson, Missouri, protests.
In addition to his work as a journalist, Lemon is the author of several books, including "Transparent" and "This is the Fire: What I Say to My Friends About Racism." He has also been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness.
