Jimmy Carter

 


Jimmy Carter is an American politician, diplomat, and philanthropist who served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. Prior to his presidency, Carter served as the Governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975. He is a member of the Democratic Party and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his efforts to promote peace and human rights around the world.


During his presidency, Carter focused on domestic issues such as energy conservation, environmental protection, and civil rights. He also worked to improve relations with the Soviet Union, established diplomatic relations with China, and negotiated the Camp David Accords, a peace agreement between Israel and Egypt. After leaving office, Carter continued to work on international humanitarian and peace initiatives through the Carter Center, which he founded in 1982.
